This chocolate cake is absolutely thee best we have ever had. It is so moist and rich, I never make anything else (unless I am short on time :) The frosting recipe included goes perfectly with this cake, but you can use any frosting you like. Try this once and you'll see why I call it "The Only Chocolate Cake Recipe You'll Ever Need"!! The Only Chocolate Cake Recipe You'll Ever Need! (Devil's Food) Servings: 16 Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons baking soda 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 cups sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup hot coffee 1 cup milk 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla Frosting: 1 cup milk 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Instructions: Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add oil, coffee and milk and mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla and beat 2 more minutes.

photo: nookandpantry.blogspot.com Tiramisu Brownie Ingredients: Espresso Brownie Base: 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped 1 stick unsalted butter, cut into tablespoon pats 1 Tbsp instant espresso powder (or sub 2 Tbsp of Kahlua - I have not tried this) 1/2 C sugar 2 eggs 1/2 C AP flour Pinch salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Mascarpone Filling: 8 oz. mascarpone 1/2 C marsala 1/4 C sugar 1 C whipping cream Topping: Dark chocolate Instructions: Make the brownie: Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a 8 x 8 baking pan with a sheet of foil to make the brownies easy to lift out. You can grease the foil but I didn't. Melt the butter and chocolate in a large bowl over a bain marie or in a microwave on low power, about 30% (whisk between intervals to insure even heating). A much requested chicken recipe! Easy to double for a large group. Delicious! Baked Teriyaki Chicken makes 6 servings Ingredients: 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 tablespoon cold water 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 12 skinless chicken thighs Instructions: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the cornstarch, cold water, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and ground black pepper. Let simmer, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens and bubbles. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Place chicken pieces in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Brush chicken with the sauce. Turn pieces over, and brush again. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Turn pieces over, and bake for another 30 minutes, until no longer pink and juices run clear. Brush with sauce every 10 minutes during cooking.

I just made this today! So good! Very rich. Next time I make it I might use half milk chocolate and half semisweet for the ganache. But the filling is pretty spot on even though it seemed like an odd concept. It was almost too buttery (if that’s even possible) so next time I’ll try half butter half shortening. A moist and flavorful recipe that makes a large quantity of cake. I have been hounded to make this cake time and time again.. Before I decided to try this cake I read every single review, paying careful attention to those who did not like the cake very much. Though the overwhelming majority, of which I am now a part, liked this cake very much I understand that you learn a lot more about something by learning what people did not like about it. So, after having made the cake I have a few suggestions for those who didn’t like the cake.  Most of the complaints where that the cake was too heavy or that it was too moist or “pudding like” A solution to this might be to strain the carrots and pineapple more before adding them in to the cake batter. I know the recipe doesn’t specify but I strained the carrots and the pineapple until they where almost dry and added about 2 – 3 tablespoons of the strained liquid back in. One Hour Cinnamon Rolls I will give step by step instructions, and the complete recipe is at the end. Start by putting warm water, sugar, oil, and yeast in your mixer bowl.  Mix a little bit, then let it sit for 15 minutes. Now add salt, eggs, and flour.  Put the lid on and mix it for 10 minutes.  Turn it off and let it sit for 10 minutes. Oil your cupboard (don’t use flour).  Dump your dough out and divide in half. Press your dough into a basic rectangle shape with your hands.  When I talked to my mom, she told me she never uses a rolling pin.  Just her hands.   Melt 1/2 cube of butter (or margarine, whatever you have is fine) and pour it onto the dough.  Spread it out (I use my hands…much easier and faster). Take your cinnamon-sugar mixture and spread evenly over the dough.  Don’t forget your edges!   If  you want to add raisins, at the beginning, put them in warm water to plump them up.  Then sprinkle them on at this point. Loved this recipe! I used unsalted buter so it didn't have that buttery taste, and you also have to make sure the butter is softened at room temperature. Don't try to cheat and melt the butter in the microwave - you will get soup.  This was an excellent frosting! I hit the jackpot when I found this one! It has a light and smooth texture and was perfect for my son's birthday cake. The flour mixture should be cooked until it is thick, like gravy. It doesn't have to form a "ball" as I don't know what that means either, like one of the reviews I read. Let it cool to room temperature b4 adding to the butter/sugar mixture. I followed this recipe exactly and used granulated sugar.  If you beat the frosting long enough, you won't get that gritty taste and the sugar dissolves if the flour mixture is just the right temperature. Really, really good and moist- my kids eat it as quickly as I can make it. Bread will freeze well, and keep in refrigerator for weeks,, Mom's Zucchini Bread makes 2 loaves Ingredients: 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon 3 eggs 1 cup vegetable oil 2 1/4 cups white sugar 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups grated zucchini 1 cup chopped walnuts Instructions: Grease and flour two 8 x 4 inch pans. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Beat eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar together in a large bowl. Delicious cake with scrumptious icing!! I made a double batch of icing to make sure there was enough....was able to generously ice the cake and had icing left over...well worth the effort....will definitely bake this one again! I made this cake as a two-layered round cake by upping the servings to 36. The cakes themselves did have to cook for about 30 min and I did add more milk, as suggested in other reviews. The cake was moist but not super light and tasted like caramel...mmmm. The icing made me a bit nervous as I'd never used a candy thermometer before...and I was concerned after reading other reviews that said it was thin. I used an electric mixer and beat it in the pot after it cooled (which took less than a minute after I removed it from the heat). I beat it for about 3 minutes and then let it rest. It thickened considerably but not to the point where I could use it on my cake so I beat it for another three minutes and let it rest for about 2 more and by then it had started t
